Accident live- should I stay and help?

This happen on sun morning, which is semalam.

Selepas state hantar wife ke kerja at ard 6.15am, I was riding my bike to my mum place
at yishun. When state turn to the deserted yio chu kang rd, tengok kat side mirror this sedan car
was driving very fast coming from behind, state quickly changed my lane and this driver pass me. Then at the traffic light while waiting to turn green, state tgk pusing kepala and tgk driver dia and I see that it's a Chinese women. So mcm tak sedap hati gitu coz me and her were the only vehicle along that road so when the light turn green I just ignore and let
her pass me.

State did not pick up speed and juz let the driver speedup. The road ahead is clear without any vehicle.The driver pick up speed and Was abt 200m infront of me when suddenly the car swerve to the left and crash the lamp post at the side lane, spin and hit another lamp post terus masuk longkang kecik. I jammed my brake and was really really shock sey..

I was like saying to myself, aku dah agak dah.. Becoz of the car collision the road suddenly blackout. I ride slowly pass the wreck car but I could not see wat happen to the driver coz it is totally dark. State stop by the roadside but did not go to the accident area . But then I saw a lorry hantar ice stop beside and a man came out and asking me are you ok, did you hit the driver, I said no, but I told him you should check her. Then I ride off leaving the man with the injured driver.

Now i really feel guilty..I should have called an ambulance or do something. Shuld I help her in the first place? I hope she
is ok? I dunno whether she is drunk or not... Do I need to make a police report?

u should at least called the police and ambulance instead asking another driver whom came later passing the scene. even if the driver drunk or what so ever that is another issue.

org kata.. berpada2 bila nak jaga tepi kain org.. but at this kind of situation u shouldnt just let it be.. what can i say.. up to u if u wanna make police report or not.. coz at the 1st place u dont intend to render assist.

Already make a police report juz nw. Was told that it not my fault, the driver drunk and police are investigating. The driver are ok with just minor injury,,

neway I should have stay back and help,, regret that I just leave without rendering any assistance.

Hehe Actually marah gak that u leave the scene. Bukan apalah tak kira siapa dlm musibah tolong apa termampu. Maybe u were shock to see all that. I and my close friend pun pernah witness a motobike ntah apa silap terskidded. We just called police and go off pasal perlu attend to something.

Suddenly teringat my case last july.  Our bike was hit by a car whose trying to make an illegal u-turn.  BOth me & hubby terbang dan landing kat tgh2 opposite road.  The driver (mebe still inshock) stayed inside his car.  Lucky ada few passerby yg render assistance.  We both manage to pull each other to the nearest pavement and trus baring with blood all over.  That driver finally came out, approached us, and u know wat? Took out his hp and amek gambar kita.  Mcm nak swing jer ngan helmet!

I think he amek gambar maybe for insurance ah. I was told if we get into accidents, we have to take photos for insurance claims ke apabenda.

I understand.  But at least he can get out of the car and help us to the side of the road.  Mujur takde oncoming car.

shld grab a taxi home.

I was shocked at first coz of this experience but seriously I regret that i did not help that lady even though
she is dead drunk..

Maybe she kena fine or something eh for drink driving even though involve no casualty...

hmm..you should have stopped la. tapi you were probably in a huge state of shock. at least you tak tinggalkan dia keseorangan. at least ada orang kat situ. and at least you made a report thereafter. (brape bnyk at least dah..)

ooooooo ok ok, I see,,  so third party also cover personal injury Plus damaged vehicle claim to the other party,,

tot only cover damaged vehicle and personal injury to the third party are separate claim..

State, not to worry at least u dah buat police report then it should be ok, next time in future pls render assistance eh...For 3rd party insurance claim especially Motorbike is usually your insurance will pay for the other party damage and injury but whatever yang berlaku at ur motor or urself...kena tanggung sendiri.its stated in the fine print on the insurance policy..

Memang benar dgn Gambar its speed up insurance claims, rather macm dulu2 setakat ur words against the other party words. Moral of the story to all motorist, its best beli Camera digital  yang murah or camera phone yang boleh digunakan untuk petik gambar bila kejadian sedemikian berlaku. Take as much photos as possible, every angle, Damage part of the vehicles so that the other party tak inflate the claims later on and jagn lupa ambik road condition photos and skid mark as this will enable to prove that the driver or rider is speeding. This photos that is taken will comes in handy later.

But out of respect, should always let the other party know in advance you are taking photos. If not, like Aslin mentioned, you will offend people.

Btw Aslin, you should take your case to a lawyer, you could win compensation. Similar thing happened to my friend while riding her bike. She only suffered some bruises, but exaggerated the case a little, and won a couple of thousand dollars.

Thks Shaz.  We dah took our case to a lawyer.  My hubby suffered from cuts and bruises, and punctured lungs.  9 days hospitalised coz dey tebuk his paru2 & masukkan tube kasi kembang balik.

My case, hospitalised only for 3 days jer trus doc halau balik coz cuma nmpk abrasions and bruises. (My left leg from knee to ankle colour purple mcm Barney!) Just bcoz xray tak nmpk fractured, they deemed me fit to go home.  Even though i keep complaining tat my back hurt the most.  They said it's normal coz baru jatuh kat road. Padahal i terbang jauh tau. Lainlah kalau naik tikar pandan terbang!

1 month later, back pain masih lom hilang, dey send me for MRI, and they were shocked to learned that ada 3 parts of my spine fractured, and daerah T7 were permanently compressed.  I loss about 10% of height permanently.  My knee area plak there's a permanent damage to the nerve.  So I loss 'sensation' or rasa mcm partly numb til now, therefor I takleh duduk melutut.

So obviously my hosp check up will drag further, so compensation pon lambat la.  Now waiting for hubby punye claim.  Heard from lawyer, they already rvc my hubby's medical report from the hosp.  Now waiting for report from Traffic Police.
