Yes, chinese and indians are everywhere. Its the sheer huge size of their population that put them at an advantage. On top of that, they're clannish by nature. Wherever they go, chinese like to live among themselves, do business with their own race, buy goods from their own people, visit their own chinese doctor, go holiday to china, employ their own people to work in their companies. Indians do the same with their race. Thus their wealth and prosperity circulate among themselves only. Dr Mahathir was so ironically right when he said in a speech, "We've lost Penang like we did Singapore." Becos once the chinese creep in and control the economy, there is little hope left for malays to regain much wealth for ourselves...the chinese are too clannish and too greedy to share with us. They only want to ensure the well-being of their people. Malays meanwhile do not have the strength of a huge population to do the same practice, and even with what we have, we are still divisive by ethnicity, with the arabs, indian muslims, javanese, boyanese all wanting to be known distinctly different from the malays.
Sifat orang melayu....tak mahu merempat kat negeri orang asing. Looking at old history, chinese, indians, lebanese, latinos, irish among some who came from their motherland kebanyakannya came out to migrate very broke, destitutes, refugees and search for a better life. Most of the chinese in singapore came from ancestors yang miskin-kerepot, cina-bukit toktok and they had jobs like coolies, tukang angkat najis, sapu sampah when they came out here dulu-dulu. Sekarang dah terpelajar dan kaya sikit nak tunjuk eksyen pada orang melayu. Seburuk-buruk dan miskin orang melayu, we don't have a history of mass migration yang kerja jadi hamba abdi atau tukang angkat najis pat negeri asing. Tak pernah jadi refugees pun. We may have little in material wealth but we stilll keep our dignity.
Also, if you don't believe me, go ask your parents or grandparents...macam mana cina dulu-dulu kahwin? Most don't even get married. Tinggal dalam tongkang and breed children there. Sekarang they have some material success, they talk big about Shangri-la wedding lah, Vera Wang bridal gown lah, diamond tiara lah konon or whatever to imitate mat salleh lifestyle. Padahal asal keturunan mereka is so jijik, and they dare to badmouth orang melayu sekarang as bangsa yang tak maju! Pigilah!!!
Betul, Orang Melayu tak nak merempat di negara orang...tapi sayangnya merempat di tanah sendiri... fikirkanlah..
