Shiny Happy People!

« on: November 09, 2007, 02:11:27 PM »

I'm sure that some of u have watched the trailer for the new show 80s rewind. I saw the part where the POSB girl actually had to wind up her 'what-ever-that-thingy' was with the numbered balls in it. I remembered watching that when i was little with a lot of curiosity.

My own experience in the 80s was concerning the ordering of milk in school. Almost all my classmates would order their milk. That milk exercise was a part of healthy lifestyles supported by MOE. I didn't order coz #1 my dad would buy chocolate milk for us to drink at home and #2 i didn't fancy the strawberry milk  which was distributed in my school.

So some of  my frens thought that i kindda 'rebel' and often gave me their whimsical smiles whenever they drank theirs. SO WHAT little people!

So if u have any 80s rewind of your own that you wish to share or anything to do with the show do add your post here. Let's go down the memory lane!

May I add some?  I'm wondering why the heck in the 80's, kalau nickname pompuan tu mesti nak 'Baby', 'Yan', 'Adik'... kalau lelaki mesti nak 'Rudy', 'Roy',.... pastu tmpt paling happening mesti parkway kan?? East Coast is a must on Sat nite? Sambil bwk radio besar dgn lagu 80an... ;D  And then there's 49ners.. etc... ;D

memang..aku pon dapat akunya title. But let's keep it a secret sssshhh!.
My aunties dulu minat sangat watch Dallas, Falcon Crest. Villains like JR, slalu i dengar from them whom they hated so much. I just watched along whatever they watched.

Then, the Solid Gold show. That was in 80s kan ? I remembered watching and gotta cover my eyes when the skimpy dressed dancers came to the stage.

People's Park pun hot jugak dulu. My mum asal shopping raya baju budak, "jom pegi people's park,"
Got lots of my strawberry shortcake dresses there and also i had this pink rectangular box-bag which i brought for my K1 and K2. Beli frompeople's park also. On the box-bag got this image of a pretty gal. Classic sih box-bag tu. If i see one now, i'll grab it for my daughter.

i hung out kejap je at far east there (eh,  but that one early 90s dah, silap trend)  sebab takut my dad found out..mati aku. :o

Kids show dulu :  Mat yoyo, care bears, smurfs, ..apa2 lagi

Ingat dulu the malay entertainment shows, hosts women jambul tinggi and keras, shoulder so puffy sebab shoulder pads tebal, mekap blusher cam kene penumbuk fresh and a lot of blings on their costumes.

last time in buses there were 'ticketing officer' who punch-holed our tickets. I remembered that i cried after the apek did that to the ticket i was holding. Back then, i was thinking like, "how could he destroy my paper, horrid man!", My mum consoled me.
