Dunno if this is the right place to be asking about iPhone. Sorry if I'm wrong. Ok here's the question:

1) Anyone has any idea how much is iPhone gonna be retailing in S'pore?

2) If I buy iPhone from the US, can I use it in S'pore using my sim card?

Ans to yur 1st question. I might b wrong abt this but...the price will be ard SGD$900 to SGD$1k. ETA...end dec. 07 or early jan 08.

As for the 2nd ans...i'm not that sure. Will asked a fren of mine regarding this matter. I too am contemplating of getting this fone online. It's basically a larger version of the iPod with mobile fone functionality.

Btw, it's just my speculation. I might be totally wrong abt all the info, except mayb 4 for the price.

whoever wrote that sounded very sore... jealous of the new talked abt 'toy' in town perhaps. honestly dun believe iPhone can be that bad after all the reviews I've read from magazines all abt gadgets & from the internet.

Couldn't agree more. Oh...well, it's the same old story...can't please anyone on the planet. There always will be the detractors in almost anything that's being invented. Their lost i guess...

C'mon la... every ups has its downs... its only a matter of time that it will fade away; unless it keeps multiplying itself in different versions...

Remember how much we're so fond of the Nokia Banana phone then the Nokia Butterfly, and then there's about something for everyone? iPhone is an exclusive; perhaps just for the few.

Here are more reasons that i will wait and see......

1. It is ridiculously expensive. I could get a laptop for that kind of money.

2. Asia already has technologically superior phones, and they’re far cheaper.

3. You cannot remove its battery. You can't standby a spare battery or, just change the battery when the old one dies on you.

4. The glass touch screen of the iPhone guarantees that thousands of customers who drop their phones will have cracked screens.

5. The touchscreen keyboard sucks, according to those who have used the iphone.

6. It can’t send MMS picture messages.

7. The camera has little or no options, and the pictures it takes aren’t very good.

8. It lacks proper support for Flash websites. So much for the internet.

9. It can’t record video.

10. “Pinching” pictures to zoom might look neat in commercials, but many reviewers are saying it actually sucks.

11. It lacks 3G high-speed data transfer.

12. No songs as ringtones.

13. No GPS.

14. It doesn’t work under Windows XP / Windows Vista!!!!!!! Thanks for not including that in your Windows System Requirements, Apple!

15. It only allows for a maximum of 1 picture to be attached to each e-mail you send.

16. It doesn’t have a file browser/organizer.

17. Its default ringtones suck.

18. You can not save documents on it: documents can only be viewed as attachments when they’re sent to your e-mail address.

19. Can't add or remove program in the phone like  My SE K800i.  No games!!

20. Its “quick list” dialing sucks compared to traditional speed dialing, which it lacks..

21. Heat issues: the iPhone can get very hot when it is in use.

Hahaha...nuthins perfect and nuthin will ever be. Same story as XP, Vista, X-Box 360, PS3, Blu-Ray etc. etc. etc...the list goes on & on & on. ;D

We all can keep on debating abt this and that and abt any other tech gadgets all day long until the "cows returned to the barn" or till "pigs can fly" and the debate will never ceased. Funny ain't it...the thread starter was just asking a simple question and it spiral into a, well...hhmm, i can't find the proper word to describe it. Btw, how many of us use our hp to browse the internet or send long winded emails or just abt anything that we do with our pc for hours on end?. ;) ;D

And thamrin...i hve no fond memories abt banana or butterfly hp. My 1st hp was a ericcson hp. ;D

On 2nd thought....i think i should keep my comments to myself since i haven't use the iPhone. When i get it then i'll give my comments. :-X

hahahaha... i can still remember the Nokia banana phone. That was a slide phone rite? Correct me if I'm wrong. As for Butterfly, have no idea. Perhaps had seen it. But didn't know it was called Nokia Butterfly
