thks,....but what abt the platform compatibility & stability ? is it gd?
for years...been using windows...both work & home...
but recently @ home, my windows have been giving problem...i suspect its virus-related...
anyway....i do think i need a new home pc....and i also think CHANGE
I
NEED (hehe...pakai Obama's rally quote

am considering an iMAC....
my worry factors are that :-
- is it user-friendly ?
- is it compatible when downloading from the net?
-is the applications useful?

i used mac before...what i know its not lasak as pc...banyak program yang tak compatible....that was 5 yrs ago lah...now tak tau pulak eh...kalau rosak pun kena pi agent and take very long to repair cos kat sana memang belambak2 yang dorang nak kena repair ...nak angkat my flower power punyalah berdengek...berat bangat...but i just love the graphic...very the powerful...kalau u do colour correction its very accurate tak macam pc.
i think yang pasal virus ni mac pun sama gak boleh terkena these virus...nak kena install good virus protection.
now itu benda ada dalam my storeroom tengah dok bertapa.

If u do a lot of graphics/photoshop then best is iMac.. otherwise, just get a mini pc for forum readings/replies...
I own an ipod and the itunes itself is giving me headaches... kejap-kejap asyik upgrade version. Apple softwares are not easy to follow, bila upgrade jer, I feel lost and have to re-learn how to function semula....
IMHO ~ Get iMac if u have time to go back to point one every now and then.

i've gotten a macbook....yet to review its performance....would give some feedback in due time
for now, i really like the outlook, very refreshing.....
since i've always been using windows platform, i think a Mac is quite compact, most programs are uploaded for ur needs...
especially if u r an ipod user so everything is just a click away...

i just got a Macbook and i am loving it!
Initially i was quite reluctant to change to Mac cos the functions will be the total opposite from Windows....but its actually easy to use...much easier than Windows..start up is also much faster..once i switch on my Mac i can use it straight away....
don't worry about most programs not being compatible with Mac....there is always (from my experience la) a Mac compatible version out there..
the beautiful outlook of the laptop is a +
Like what they say...once you go Mac you never go back!

well...im not much of a gd reviewer, eh....
for all i know, like chocolatte said the startup is definitely a jiffy thing! ... bagus banget...
unlike windows yg seems takes some time just to start up
also the help/search items are very useful....
running programs are neatly displayed, tak yah nak tab sana sini...just a button away, u can view all the running progs
also when u surf the net, its superfast...takde nak chk for virus-scan lah & all those stuff...
as i know windows is not pre-scanned for virus-proof...thats why u need to install 3rd party virus scan like mcafee, symantec etc
also with mac, u dont easily download .exe software....so helps to prevent downloading unprotected files...
act im not pc savvy lah....these are some that i got info from...
and the outlook definitely sleek....this is definite a better chg

Kita memang berhasrat nak beli Mac.....tengah survey-survey the market. Kat sekolah, every trendy person bukak itu white Mac kat kelas. Anything else macam outdated and ketinggalan zaman
. Cuma kita punya concern dengar-dengar cerita, Mac can't take the heat.....it gets hot really fast and then kena boot-up again...and again....and again. Anyone had that problem? Kita punya habit likes to leave the laptop running all day as I do my other chores......pada pagi sampai petang. So far takde masalah with my very durable tahan-lasak Dell Latitude (its an extremely good machine, especially for professionals who want to replace their desktop!). Tapi berat badak, so nak beli lagi satu yg ringan. But afraid I might not be able to switch it on all day macam Latitude.

I bought my Mac early this year. Aslin, I don't know what else to add that Yatee and Chocolatte haven't said. Mac is cool. They have the new aluminium silver one now, which is better quality than the plastic white (just need to pay a little extra). I don't know what you are using the laptop for, but if you need it for presentations, Mac is awesome. Take note you don"t have all the features of yahoo messenger when you chat on Mac like photosharing and conferencing, cos Mac has its own IChat thing. I love their IPhoto and Photobooth and all the many little applications tat come with the Mac without you having to install individually like the PC and taking up lots of memory space. Nobody I know using Mac has installed an antivirus and none of us has ever got a virus, not that its 100% virus proof of cos. I have a good Dell laptop which I forked out more than $3000 for ( a year and half ago), and even than my cheaper Mac has a more beautiful graphic, better sound quality and much better looking too.
However, this is not to say that PC is bad. The only thing is that with PC, you have to pay for an expensive one to get a good laptop. I find those cheaper ones quite nasty and prone to all kinds of issues.
