Hi All:

I know that from the date of booking a unit, we would have to sign the Lease Agreement within 3 months.

But I was just wondering if anyone here has ever deferred the Signing of the Lease Agreement by say a few months. This is for flats still under construction.

If you ever deferred before, care to share how you went about doing it and how long did you defer for? TIA! *smiles*

HDB would give you WITHIN 3 Months.Which mean it could be earlier too.For my case, the handover key of the old house (2nd Appt) was in late Oct but i went to book my flat in early OCT. I inform the personnel that should i'd like to collect my keys only after my 2nd Appt. But at the same time i also write in to HDB regarding of my situation. But they did mention to me dat i could defer my Lease of Agreement few mths prior to the actually DAte as long as u inform them or else they will take it as cancellation and ur booking fees will be forfited. U could also go down to HDB for further enquire.

Hi nuriko,

Thanks for replying. I have already made an appeal, gone for my first appt and selected a house. My request was approved and I was able to defer the signing of the Lease Agreement.  Tongue

u mean new house is it? for me the flat dah siap berdiri dah panggil2 suruh amek diaorg

ni we share, i think ada yg same kes dgn kita.. we will book umah on august before my 2nd appt for selling my previous flat..

selalu they said within 3 month leh collect keys.. but we like caught in suprise.. we received letter saying that we can collect key on late sept.. dahlah kita berdua kancong.. dah calling sana calling sini.. consult forummer.. last2 after consult semua.. we decide to take the keys.. and we have write to hdb to defer to till later date.. coz my nikah date was like passed 4 month of the date line..

Yup, new flat which is still under construction. But based on the current progress, the probable completion date would be around Mid 05. I would think that to defer the submission of ROM cert should not be a prob. I have plenty of friends whom HDB forgot all about i.e. their town council never asked for their ROM cert. Plus although the max grace period HDB give you is 3 months from date of keys collection, I know that to defer to a max of 1 year should not be a problem, especially if you can provide supporting documents such as receipt for booking of venue, bridal studio, etc.
