Once you got the cd, just follow these steps:

  • Start your computer and log on.
  • Insert the Windows XP CD into your CD-ROM drive.
  • On the Welcome to Microsoft Windows XP page, click Install Windows XP.
  • On the Welcome to Windows Setup page, click Upgrade (Recommended) in the Installation Type box (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
  • On the License Agreement page, click I accept this agreement, and then click Next.
  • On the Your Product Key page, type the 25-character product key in the Product key boxes, and then click Next.
  • On the Get Updated Setup Files page, select the option that you want, and then click Next.
  • Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to reinstall Windows XP.
  • Once the re-install is complete you will once again have to install the latest service pack and any other updates that your system requires.

Using that method will just reinstall your windows os.... but if you really want to format and do a fresh install read this...

This will just re-install our Windows OS only? Our programs and files will be deleted tak?

OK, I need help....

My laptop kena spy-shredder virus attack.  tickedoff tickedoff. Angry

Now, everytime I launch my browser, I get this scanner.spyshredderscanner.com instead of the yahoo.uk that I set as my default website.

Also lately I cannot launch my MSN messenger and also I cannot login into Friendster. I have a blog in my Friendster which I can access but cannot update my blog there now.  banghead

If I reformat the laptop will this get rid of the spy-shredder virus too?? I got the recovery CD and all the CDs that came togeher when I purchased this lappy. I dun mind reformatting my pc to start a clean slate. Tapi I nak reformat pc pun I tak tau..heh.... Embarrased

Can anyone help???
